How UX Design Agency Uses Design Thinking

UX designers have to deal with unique problems every time they take on a project. One of the most effective ways to develop innovative solutions is to use design thinking. Being an experienced UX design agency, we strongly believe in leveraging the power of design thinking to solve complex design problems.

In this article, we will discuss how we use design thinking for our UI UX design projects.

What is Design Thinking?

Design thinking is a framework that UX designers can use in order to tackle big, complicated, or even largely unknown problems in product development.

The reason why design thinking is so powerful is that it enables you, as designers, to understand from the user’s viewpoint what they need and what problems they have instead of your side. Then, you can find a corresponding solution. With the method you get, you can innovate what users want.

Design Thinking Process In Action At UX Design Agency

1. Empathy

When we start working on a design project, we first understand the user’s needs, wants and dislikes. To understand what motivates them, their daily routines/habits and how we can make their lives better.

We do this by engaging with users, conducting interviews and taking surveys to get the most authentic information and then interpret it.

2.  Define

From the information gathered during the empathy/research phase, it’s time for our team to define the problem. These problem statement is user-centric, what is the user actually trying to solve. We don’t just focus on company’s problems but user’s problems too. This is the main point of difference between the approach of a UX design agency and a web design agency.

3. Ideate

We love this part. To ideate on every possible solution in a creative manner. We do this by brainstorming, listing out as many ideas to solve the defined problem and come up with the most viable solution.

4. Prototype

After deciding upon the most viable solution, it’s time to execute the same. Our UX designers start by creating low-fidelity prototypes to experiment with. Then we select the winning prototype and add a layer of details - meaning more visuals, interactions and content.

5. Testing

During the testing phase, we prep up the prototype and invite target users to actually use the prototype. By this way we can identify the latent gaps, take feedback and improvise. Through repetitive testing, we make sure that the final product has minimum chances of error and is widely accepted by users.
